What is The Creative Uncommons?

TCUC is a half magazine, half community hub site for the Creative Commons music scene. Unlike the CC music distribution sites, NetLabels and blogs it aims to act more as an active, involving resource for anyone interested or involved in the world of free music, as opposed to a provider of services or passive content. Or to paraphrase in a slightly less ridiculous way, it's a free music site with some bits that people can read, some bits they can post on and some bits they can contribute to.

Who owns The Creative Uncommons?

Depends on who wants to know... but This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it created the site and acts as editor and general overlord, so him really.

It should be noted though that this site has absolutely no connection to the Creative Commons Corporation which is a fine and upstanding non-profit organisation.

What can I do with the music?

Most releases include a CC licensing agreement which is the guide on that one, if it doesn't help then contact the artist.

I want to be a bright, shining star! Can I write a something for you?

Knock yourself out, you can use the link on the top menu to submit whatever you want, well, almost whatever you want.

I did that, no one replied to me, I hate you.

These things take a while, a long while, because we're lazy.

TCUCs' staff are regular contributors or people who've been around a while, keep submitting and see what happens.
